Privacy policy

She Tutors uses information to arrange lessons, manage bookings, send meeting invitations, and follow up on attendance. This policy also explains website analytics and how to change your cookie settings.

Who we are

She Tutors is a boutique tutoring practice founded by Sanna Malick. We provide one-on-one science, math, and exam prep tutoring to high school and college students in the United States.

She Tutors uses the services described below to operate this website and coordinate tutoring.

Website analytics

You can read our public pages without creating an account. These pages use Google Analytics as described below. The private booking page does not load Google Analytics.

While analytics is running, Google Analytics 4 records:

  • the pages you open on this site, and when;
  • the page, search result, or link you arrived from;
  • your browser, device type, operating system, and screen size;
  • an approximate location — country, region, and sometimes city — worked out from your IP address. Google truncates the address and does not store it.
  • clicks on the few links we mark for tracking, such as the contact link. We record the link’s address and the words on it, not who clicked.

We use this to see which pages are useful and how people find the site. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not combine it with anything else. There is no advertising on this site, and the advertising and personalization signals in Google Analytics are switched off.

Lesson bookings and records

We use TutorCruncher for student, parent, and tutor accounts, lesson records, schedules, and invoices. Our private booking links connect to the relevant tutoring arrangement in TutorCruncher. When you book a lesson, the booking service uses that arrangement, the selected time and duration, and the assigned student and tutor records to create the lesson in TutorCruncher.

The booking service displays available times and upcoming lessons. It also processes cancellation requests submitted through the service and emails the request details to She Tutors. Keep your private booking link private: anyone with the link can access the booking information it opens.

Cloudflare runs the booking service and stores operational records used to prevent duplicate bookings and requests. It also delivers booking and service alert emails to She Tutors. These functions are separate from optional website analytics and continue to work when you decline analytics.

Meeting invitations and attendance

We use student and tutor names, email addresses, and lesson times from TutorCruncher to create Google Calendar invitations and Google Meet links. Google processes these details to provide the calendar and meeting services. Invitations are updated or cancelled when the lesson changes.

After a lesson, the service checks Google Meet participant display names and join and leave times against the expected student and tutor. If someone appears to have missed a lesson or attended only part of it, the service emails an attendance report to She Tutors. A different display name can cause an incorrect match; contact us if an attendance report needs correcting.

Cookies and similar storage

The site sets no cookies of its own. The only cookies come from Google Analytics, and only while analytics is running.

  • _ga — a Google Analytics cookie. It tells one browser apart from another so a returning visit is not counted as a new person. Google documents its lifetime as about two years.
  • _ga_* — a Google Analytics cookie whose name ends with this site’s measurement ID. It keeps the state of your visit to this site. Google documents its lifetime as about two years.
  • she-tutors_consent — not a cookie. This is an entry in your browser’s local storage that records your analytics choice, so you are not asked again on every page. It is kept for up to 12 months, and it is only written once you make a choice.

Your choices

Cookie settings. The “Cookie settings” button in the footer reopens the consent banner on our public pages. You can accept or decline analytics there at any time, and change your mind later. Opening settings keeps your existing choice until you select Accept or Decline.

Where you are matters. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland — or if we cannot tell where you are — nothing analytics-related runs until you accept. Elsewhere, including the United States, analytics loads when you open the site, and you can turn it off with Cookie settings.

Your browser. You can block or delete cookies and clear local storage in your browser settings. This site works without them. Clearing that storage also clears your saved analytics choice, so you may be asked again.

Children and parents

Student information used for bookings, invitations, and attendance can include information about students under 18. Parents and guardians can contact us with questions about a student’s information.

Some of our students are under 18. Tutoring for a student under 18 is arranged with a parent or guardian, who agrees the lessons and the arrangements.

If information about a student needs correcting, or you want to ask about deleting it, contact us using the details below.

Hosting and third parties

Cloudflare hosts the public pages and runs our booking and email services. Cloudflare processes request data — including your IP address, your browser type, and the page requested — to deliver pages and protect the site. See theCloudflare privacy policy

TutorCruncher stores the tutoring account and lesson records described above. Our booking service reads and updates those records to arrange lessons.

Google provides Google Analytics, Calendar, and Meet and processes the information described above. See theGoogle privacy policy andhow Google uses data from sites that use its services

We do not sell information about visitors.

This site links to TutorCruncher, LinkedIn, university websites, and WhatsApp. Those sites are run by other companies, with their own privacy policies. Opening a WhatsApp chat means WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy apply to that conversation. We have no control over what they collect.

Changes to this policy

If the site changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page. The “Last updated” date at the bottom of the page shows when it last changed.
